Australia, known as the Land Down Under, has enticed visitors for many years including Oprah Winfrey and her 302 loyal viewers on her Ultimate Australian Adventure in 2011. Australia is a huge country and most of it is still untouched and in its natural state. There are many good reasons why travellers want to visit Australia, but here are just a few why Australia is at the top of many people’s bucket list.

Great weather. Australia has golden sunshine pretty much year round. Their winter is our summer and vice versa. The southern part of Australia can get chilly in the winter months during May and June. However, the northern part of Australia has summer-like weather 365 days of the year.

Amazing and unique wildlife. Australia is a land mass unlike any other in the world. As a result the wildlife have been left to evolve with little influence from other parts of the world. As a result, it has a truly distinct and wonderful collection of animals that is unlike anywhere else on Earth. You can simply enjoy viewing these wonderful creatures or it is a wild-life seeking travellers dream to see so many diverse creatures roaming in so many diverse habitats. If you thought that a wombat had wings and slept upside down in caves, you’ll be surprised to find out that it is a marsupial that burrows instead of climb tress like  its relative, the koala.

Or have you heard of a Quokka, a marsupial which resembles a pint-size kangaroo, with strong hind legs which helps it climb trees.

Did you know that the Tasmanian Devil poses little or no threat to humans and usually feeds on carcasses found along the side of the road in Tasmania?

Of course, it is a delightful experience when you see a kangaroo hopping in the field beside the road, even  though the typical  Australian farmer would not agree with you.

Natural beauty of the country. The Australian landscapes are highly diverse. From unspoilt beaches, tropical rainforests to vast tracts of desert, this is a country of contrasts. Imagine spending time on a beautiful beach like this which is right in the city.

Further south, Tasmania is a mountainous island south of Australia which seems a world away with its lush green valleys, uncrowded towns and villages, and undeveloped coastlines.
