Enter the Digital Age of Weddings with a Wedding Website

The internet has become such a big part of our daily lives! It’s become our biggest research tool and the main way in which we communicate with one another. It only makes sense that it’s also become a huge part of how we share information about weddings with friend and family.

Wedding websites are one of the best ways to communicate wedding information with friends and family.

More often than not, couples nowadays have a wedding website. This is a wonderful tool, not only to share information about your nuptials, but a fantastic way to generate excitement about the upcoming event! It’s a place to share your story with your guests, including how you met and the romantic tale that happened along the way. You can also include the details of your proposal, from where it happened to how. (And, of course, whether you said yes right away or not!)

One of the things I love most about wedding websites is that it’s a place to include all types of information that shouldn’t go in the wedding invite, like registry information or perhaps if you’re having a cash bar. You can also save yourself a few dollars and include a lot of other invite information here, such as maps and information about locations, travel and room block information for out-of-town-guests, reminder details about the actual ceremony and reception and any other wedding events that are being held.
It’s a place where you post your engagement photos or have an online guestbook where friends and family can offer their congratulations and send you warm wishes. Some websites offer a feature that allows your guests to RSVP right online, saving you the cost of a separate RSVP card and the necessary postage- a digital solution for a digital age!

While you can get complimentary wedding websites from The Knot ©, more elaborate wedding websites opportunities (with more customized features) can be found at WeddingWindow, eWedding, and My Wedding Workbook. Spend some time checking a few of them out and see which one is the best fit for you. Once you’ve decided, have fun creating!

HINT: Once you’ve created your website, go back and add new things to it at least every couple of weeks. This will encourage your guests to check back and see what’s new, continuing to generate more excitement about your wedding!
